welcome to my personal site

Hello,
I'M CHLOE

As kids, we're asked what we want to be when we grow up, and all too often we think of professions that sound "cool", or make a substantial amount of money, but what I learned throughout my career as a human being, is that it's not about the title, and more so the innate skillset you already have. Once I realized that I'm really good at optimization as well as developed a creative "eye", I gravitated toward the opportunities that tapped into my natural skillset while also leaving room to grow.

Originally from cow-town Wisconsin, I'm a self-taught visual and experiential designer who's shaped from many great successes along with many character building lows. I've integrated these life experiences into my personal and professional philosophies, with my core values centering around authenticity and intentionality. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with a BFA in Film, I became a freelance filmmaker where I contributed to numerous creative projects, some that have gone on to win global awards. Simultaneously, I dedicated years to the wedding industry as a videographer for multiple local companies, as well as independently. The connections and teams I've collaborated with have been pivotal in my growth and are experiences I still take away from today.

Later feeling the pull to expand and challenge myself in other avenues, I went on to become a nanny, competitive dance coach, and soon after a business manager for a functional medicine practice. What stood out to me in all of those opportunities was my love for cultivating a positive and memorable experience for others.

[UH-MEH-RIN-EEZ] VERB

I once walked into a small dumpling house and was asked if I was Chinese. After responding with a "yes," I was handed a Chinese menu. I immediately returned it, saying, "Nope! I'm not Chinese." This comedic mix-up prompted me to think about identity and perception. While society might label me as a "banana," I was not eager to adopt the term. This led me to coin the term "Amerinese."

After years of using it as a quirky username on social media, I wanted to redefine the word to symbolize something greater than just a catchy phrase about identity. It has become a personal movement, a way of life that embodies my mission to inspire a more authentic world.

THE VANTASY VENTURES

For years I have been slowly building up the courage to write a biopic that follows my tumultuous yet triumphant life journey. Through heartbreaks, setbacks, and moments of self-doubt, I've persisted. The film captures my relentless pursuit of belonging and acceptance. Diving into themes of complex relationships, societal prejudices, and unhealed wounds, I transform hardships into stepping stones toward empowerment. The turning point comes when I embark on a journey of self-discovery after hitting rockbottom, and along the way form profound connections and find solace in unexpected places.

"Made In China" is a poignant exploration of resilience, identity, and the unwavering human spirit. Through my personal life story, the film serves as a testament to the transformative power of knowing thy self,  proving that even in the face of adversity, one can rise from the heart and rewrite their destiny.
